Enhanced Public Spaces

Our development is designed around a large central park, which would be the largest public realm area in South Ilford and the largest new public realm space within Ilford Metropolitan Centre. In total, the development will provide 6,813 sqm of public realm open to all.

We placed permeability at the core of our design. Local residents will be able to use this open space as a quick, pleasant, and green pedestrian route to Ilford town centre and beyond.

The public realm on the site will include several character zones including playspace, places to dwell, public art, raised planters and community allotments. Crucially, it will be well-lit and overlooked from all sides to maintain safety and reduce antisocial behaviour.

Further public realm improvements are represented by the creation of tree-lined streets on Riverdene Road, Roden Street, Chapel Road and Winston Way.
