Sainsbury’s is committed to operating its stores sustainably and in line with its ambitious target to be Net Zero across its own operations by 2040. Telford Homes was recently named the UK’s most sustainable housebuilder.
The sustainability strategy for the site is being designed to support Redbridge and the Mayor of London’s Climate Emergency declaration. Not only will Chapel Place have substantial green space on site, we want the flexible space to achieve a ‘Very Good’ BREEAM certification.
The energy strategy target will be ‘zero carbon’ with a minimum of 35% carbon reduction being achieved by using a combination of air and ground source heat pumps and thermally efficient building envelopes. We intend to reduce hard surfacing and water consumption with flow control devices and water efficient fixtures in all dwellings.
